Charting My Times for the First 50 Ten-Kilometer Runs

Yesterday’s run was the 50th ten-kilometer one, so I decided to make a chart with all these 50 times. Or, more exactly, I decided to make another one and post it here too, because I first made one last week, after what was the 48th such run, when Sonya asked whether my times were gradually getting better after I said I was disappointed by just missing getting under 48 minutes for the third time. Had no idea how many times I had covered this distance so far, but when I saw I was close to 50, it seemed like a good idea to wait until I get there, which happened quickly since there was a second run last week as well, and then post this.

That second run I mentioned for last week was on Friday, since the weather allowed it and it definitely can’t hurt to add to the buffer, because the weather will become a problem as of next week. The time was 48:21, with sector times of 4:21, 5:12, 5:56, 4:29, 5:07, 5:54, 4:32, 5:06, 5:54 and 1:50, making for lap times of 15:29, 15:30 and 15:32. Very close lap times, as you can see, and while I never challenged that 48-minute mark, at least I got under 48:30 once more.

Yesterday’s time, on the other hand, was 47:47, with sector times of 4:29, 5:09, 5:51, 4:27, 5:03, 5:47, 4:30, 5:00, 5:47 and 1:44, making for lap times of 15:29, 15:17 and 15:17. So I did get under 48 minutes for the third time, and actually managed my second fastest time on this distance. Didn’t plan to, and the first lap didn’t announce anything of the sort, despite that fast third sector, but then it just kept getting better. The first sector wasn’t too good on either lap two or lap three, but the second and third ones definitely were.
That third lap is also the new fastest third lap, which I will list as 15:17, since I always just keep the seconds in mind and calculate accordingly, but now I actually remembered the exact times and it was in fact 15:16.46, and also included a second sector that was just under the listed 5:00, being covered in 4:59.91. On the other hand, the second lap had a time of 15:17.79, so it was 1.33 seconds slower even though I’ll list it as having the same time. After all, this rounding may allow for a difference of up to 1.98 seconds to be missed, but there’s little I can do about that as long as I just have my memory to rely on, since I definitely won’t be able to remember and calculate the exact times all the time, plus that I didn’t so far, so there’d be no way to compare in case of such small differences.

And that’s about it for now. Should have written a personal update today, may have even written a protest report, but I could barely get myself to write this much. No idea what I’ll do about the other things, and any day that passes adds even more to what I’ll want to write there, so it’ll be even harder, plus that something troubling is going on and I’ll need to do something about it soon, which may make for a lot more to write and a significantly worse state of mind to try to do it in. May split things, adding three posts in a week, or may just skip them completely, no idea. The purpose of this one was just to mention these last two runs and to link to that chart, and I did just that, so it’s good enough for today.
