All I can really say at this moment is what’s in the title. It was clear that this was coming after the end of the Olympics, yet somehow many still seemed surprised, disbelieving… The bottom line is that Putin doesn’t stop unless he’s stopped, and the West, NATO, the EU, nobody did anything relevant to prevent things from getting to this point, and they still do nothing relevant to stop them now… Not that anything was to be expected from top officials, of course, even if they’d be the only ones with any chance to do enough… But maybe NGOs and regular people will rise up to the occasion, put pressure on the officials and do what they can to help the people of Ukraine, the refugees but also those remaining there, possibly even including offering some small aid for those fighting, especially when it comes to the unconventional warfare.
