New Books!
Have some new books to read as of a few days ago. Talking about the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I guess I’ll now see if it’s as good as it’s said to be, though I’m so starved for reading that it’d be quite hard for me not to like a solid epic fantasy series.
The book fair was last week and I went to take a look despite knowing that this shop I found there last year, one that sells books in English and mainly focuses on fantasy titles, wasn’t going to participate in order to protest against the way the fair’s organized. The plan was to go to that shop after leaving the fair and actually buy something from there if I wouldn’t find anything more interesting at the fair, seeing as they announced significant discounts during those days.
That went as planned up to the part about actually buying something. I went in, looked at everything, picked what I wanted but there was no way I could actually buy them. I tried to waste some more time in there, hoping I could persuade myself, but I was just growing more and more afraid so eventually I left, feeling even more like shit than usual…
I told dad what I meant to buy after getting back here and he went to pick them up the next day, so at least I have them… And the 30% discount made them be worth the price too, seeing as they ended up costing about as much as they would have been if I’d have ordered them from Amazon, when books in English sold around here tend to start at around 20% above what they’d cost if ordered like that and sometimes get to be even 50% more expensive.
