Statistics Marking Five More Years
Even if it’s quite a pain to put together something like this and as of this year it’s that much worse, considering the limited time I spend on-line, this post is meant to be like the one from five years ago, being far more thorough than normal and marking the end of a “cycle”, after which I’ll start over, the next such post no longer including this first column which in this one covers the entire period since I started over, meaning September 21, 2015 to September 20, 2020. The second covers the period since the previous such post, September 21, 2019 to September 20, 2020, while the third is the usual one I add at the end, covering the last month, so starting on August 21, 2020 and also ending on September 20, 2020. Not that it should be of any interest to anyone, of course, especially considering the low number of visits, but I’m posting it nevertheless, largely for my own use.

[1] Spam entries obviously not listed.
[2] Even though one’s own domain should automatically be added to exclusions, after switching to what at the time was the new Analytics code I ended up with a number of entries listing my own site as source, some of those likely being direct hits from returning visitors who had last visited a different section and many being incorrectly registered new sessions from visitors who landed on the site index and then went to other sections. I have since manually added my domain to the exclusions list and this eliminated the issue, but the only thing I can do about the past statistics is what I’ve been doing since this started happening, which is to add these visits to the number of direct ones and leave the inflated numbers as they are otherwise.
[3] Lower threshold because the number of entries allowed it.
[4] Including entries labeled “‘Mozilla”. They’re probably all crawlers or bots though.
I hope I didn’t make any mistakes. Of course, especially considering how many parts I split this into and how I at times rushed to finish a section while I could remain on-line, it is possible that something slipped through despite checking each section, often more than once, after finishing it, but I’m definitely not going to go over all of it yet again now.
As for the records, those are unchanged, namely 169 visitors and 180 visits, set on the old site by that large spike on August 16, 2009, and 333 pageviews, set on March 3, 2013. And here are the usual graphs for visitors, visits and pageviews for this last year, and this time I’m also adding those for visitors, visits and pageviews for the entire five-year period.
